I see that the Icbm has made it on the list of Stereophiles recommended components.I for one think it's a great piece of equipment probably the best $250.00 I have ever spent on audio gear.

I got a Pioneer DV563A, which while having something that can be considered Bass Management, by no means does anything remotely effective. When I added my ICBM to the system, it sure did open up my system and give me the base I had been missing.

Its a great, low cost component, that is well worth the investment, if not more.

would an ICBM help if running small all the way arround while base goes to the subs? Does this replace the LFE channel, or is there a way to use it in conjunction with the LFE channel? How does it help?

The intent of the ICBM is for the speakers to be set large in the player - the ICBM then allows individual control of the crossover points used for the mains, center, and surround channels, with the low frequency data from each channel redirected to the sub and combined with the .1 LFE channel.

This is going to sound stupid, but here it goes.
The first time I hooked up the ICBM and listened to a my old 2CH SACD recordings (L&R only), I almost cried. The cross-over dumped to my sub made the music sound so much better.

I've got a bad habit of ALWAYS second guessing myself on the equipment I buy. I can honestly say that with the ICBM, this didn't happen. I knew (and know) that it definately is the best $ I ever spent for my audio fixation, hands down.
