Do you have to use the wimpy in front hook-upto keep the DSP functions.Meaning only thru the 6ch.output.That Limits the bass box to just Hi-Rez.Am I missing something?

I'm not real sure what hook-up you are referring to. If you are using the ICBM for bass management of a DVD-Audio or SACD player, you would put it between the six-channel analog output of the player and the six-channel analog input of the Yamaha (which is the application that led to the ICBM's creation). If you choose to also use the ICBM for all bass management, you would need to locate it between a pre/pro and power amp -- which would mean using the RX-Z1 as a pre/pro only, unless you can loop out of the pre-amp outputs and back in to the receiver's power amp section (which I don't think it can do, although I could be mistaken). From what I could tell, the RX-Z1's bass management is limited to assigning large/small for each speaker (the crossover is fixed -- probably at 80Hz).
