I have approximately 2,000$ for speakers.... what to buy?

I have a chance to buy this stuff for $1750.00. A pair NHT VT-2 s peakers, an NHT SA-2 sub amp, NHT AudioCenter 2 center channel speaker, and a pair of Paradigm ADP-350 dipole surrounds…. I would have to possibly spend about 200$ shipping or so?

One other option is the axiom epic 60 series with a vp150 center channel…

What do you guys think about those 2 options, what would you go with, or do you have any other options that you would recommend for the same price?

i will be purchasing a 950, and a 755 soon, but first speakers. thanks guys!

I have an NHT setup with the 2.9's as mains, Audiocenter 2 and 1.5ci's as rears. I think NHT's are a great match for the Outlaws because the NHT's like power and are very revealing. The Outlaw equipment has plenty of clean power and is very neutral in its presentation. The only problems is, if you have a bad recording.....you're gonna get bad output. The NHT/Outlaw combination pulls not punches....trash in equals trash out.

I would agree with harp795. My NHT system does great with the 950/770. Much much better than the previous Yamaha receiver. I'm not sure what the Paradigm's are worth but the $1750 should be about average for the NHT's you listed, depending upon the condition.

With speaker buying, it is always good to listen to different speakers before buying -- speaker preferences are to some degree a matter of personal taste. If it is possible to demo NHT's and Paradigms locally, that would be the best bet. Having said that, both NHT and Paradigm make good speakers. I've been very happy with my Paradigm Reference speakers and a 950/750 combo.

why do you want to mix speaker brands? if i was buying a new system from scratch, I WOULD NEVER MIX BRANDS!!!!!!!!!!! speakers not including subwoofers that is. people are funny, i dont know what makes them think that mixing two totally different brands makes good sense. only if they are the same can you mix, and as we all know they never will be. if you had high performance tires on your vehicle would you throw any old tire in place of one? no, because your car would handle like crap. not to mention that in speakers the difference is greater between brands, so that would be like putting on a sorry, wrong size, wrong width, wrong speed rating, and wrong traction tire on in place of one that is part of the pair of 4. but hey, what do i know?

If you haven't upgraded yet, you might want to check out the Rockets. These speakers are beautiful and sounds really great.. Check out their website "AV123.com". My outlaw never sounded so good! Won't you give it a try you won't regret it!!

You may want to consider the Polk LSi series speaker. They are very detailed and sounds awesome with outlaw amps

Can't go wrong with the Paradigms or Rockets! I moved my Paradigms from the family/theater room to the bedroom and put a Rockets Theater package in their place. The Outlaw 950, with a couple of 200s, and an Anthem 5 channel just rock the house. My subs are Paradigm and SVS and I have not issues with either (SVS rocks the neighbors windows too!)

GET GOOD CABLES!!!!!

If you are the "average" consumer, and have one system and a budget, check out the Ascend Acoustics speakers. You could get a complete package including a Hsu subwoofer for your stated budget and have comparable or better performance than traditional B&M brands at killer savings.
