I am considering buying a 755 to bi-amp my Paradigm Studio 60's (front speakers)with my 1050 receiver. Anybody have any thoughts or experience with this??

I bi-wire a set of Studio/60's and a Studio/CC using three channels of a 750, with the other two channels driving a pair of Studio/ADP's (currently using a Model 950, but I had a 1050 prior to that). This arrangement gives plenty of power for them, and they sound very nice. I have not tried bi-amping them, though.

Unless you've got some specific goal you might want to reconsider bi-amping, unless you're going all the way and can use an active crossover. Even with this route, you'll have obstacles since you (to get best results) should bypass the built-in x-overs and this means becoming, in effect, a speaker designer.

A bigger amp wouldn't hurt probably, though.

Bi-amping without a x-over will reduce the broadband current load (effectively raising impedance) each amp sees, but the 755 seems capable of driving most reasonable loads without duress.

It is my understanding that internal crossovers in the digm's will be active in bi-amping, ...with just adding the 755 amp, I should be able to use 4 channels for the 2 fronts and use the 5th channel for the center. I do not have good surround speakers, yet, so I'll leave them on the 1050. Whadduthink??!!

Seriously, the 'advantage' in the setup you're talking about is simply a lower current draw per channel (same at the outlet more or less) on an amplifier that would happily drive the whole load. Both channels see the same input signal and are (ideally) producing the same voltage output, with current draw split between them. Since it's all in the same amp it's even more pointless than usual.

If you want more power get a bigger amp (the 755 looks to be a good amp) and hook it up.

YEA, Maybe I'll just get the 755 and wire it the regular way, and leave the rear channel hooked to the 1050. Sometime, as a test, I'll run it bi-amp and listen for the clarity .... THANKS for your comments.
