LOL! I'm sorry, but the posting was just too funny. No, your link will not work. Go to http://www.picturetrail.com and use their free website for convenience. Just follow their directions on how put up images to share with others on the web.
cheers
PS Accept my apologies. I was not laughing at you.

a 3D model of a 1050 in AutoCAD? I'd very much like to see that -- either a screenshot or the CAD file! You'll need to convert the bitmap to a JPEG (or a GIF) and upload it somewhere. If MCH's picturetrail link doesn't get you on track, drop me an e-mail at gonk@prillaman.net and I'll see if I can help.

Nice work, youngguns!

What was this created for? School project, or just for the heck of it?

Very impressive! Nice work! I work with CAD (LT release) quite a bit myself, but only for 2D layouts and wiring diagrams. Never had the chance to play with 3D stuff in a full release of CAD. Looks like fun!

I use AutoCAD on a daily basis in my work, almost exclusively for 2D work (building construction documents) -- been using 2000 for a couple years now, getting ready to migrate the office to 2002 later this year. I have used the 3D tools a little (designed a pair of huge air handling unit rooms in 3D about 4 years ago so I could keep track of the 20+ separate duct systems) and know that it takes some practice and skill. It is pretty fun, too. My stuff was nowhere near as detailed or well-textured as youngguns' 1050.

I'd say that will be useful if you start looking for an engineering job associated with CAD. We've hired a couple people with AutoCAD "experience" that amounted to a single semester course during freshman year -- one of those screenshots would be handy during an interview if somebody asked how extensive your experience was.

I agree! Very impressive! How long did that take you? Did you do it completely by eye?

hi, everyone. that right there took me around seven or eight hours or more to do. one of the resons it took so long is that i mesured everything on my 1050 with a little ruler that goes down to the 100th of an inch scale. everything on there is pretty acurate within a few hundreth of an inch (a little more on the real big parts. so i pretty much mesured everything by hand and gussed on the stuff that i couldn't messure. thanks for apriciating my work (fun). when i get around to adding some more stuff i will post a few more pictures on that site.

youngguns, that rocks! It's probably also easier to perform a cad rotatation of the 1050 than in real life..

I didn't see the rear panel, is that your next ambitious project?

Hey jack..... yep your right, the back panel is my next project, but im not sure when i'm going to start it though. As of now it is just a plain black back. It is getting hard to work on due to the sheer size of the projecet (35mb) so think i wil desine the back panel in another file then paste it in to the 1050 file when it is done, my computer is pretty fast but it just not fast enough (hahaha).
