I would really like to see a good quality 2 channel amplifier designed to drive the woofers/subwoofers in a bi-ampable speaker. For instance, like what NHT used to make, but better - stereo instead of mono, but bridgeable to produce more power for true subwoofer application, selectable active low-pass and high-pass crossovers to take the strain off your main amp, front-mounted level control, and if you wanted it to be really cool, a couple of switchable EQ settings (like boundary compensation, movie/music switches, etc.) If you wanted it to be really REALLY cool, add in a channel or two of paramatric equalization. Now that Outlaw has teamed up with Hsu for the LFM-1, their active crossover designs could simply be combined with a stereo version of one of Outlaw's amps. I'm sure Hsu could help optimize the amp design and application for bass production.

There's an awful lot of speakers on the market now that can be bi-amped, but to do so with any control at all over the results is very complicated. NHT's SA-2 and SA-3 offered this for a while, but they are now gone and were never ideal, because they were mono and designed originally for NHT's passive subs. Just think about all those extra binding posts, sitting uselessly at the bottoms of speakers in audiophile homes everywhere.... just crying out for a purpose in life.... Plus, sales would probably be better than with a "straight" 2 channel amp, because a bass amp would not have any particular sonic signature, no mid-range colorations, no "brightness", etc., and thus would probably appeal to a wider market, including the users of very high-end amplifiers.
