Decisions..............For now I think I am going to check out NAD, Marantz again and wait for a bit since I know most companies will at least up to Pro Logic II.

I know Onkyo is coming out with TX-sr600 and I read an article that NAD is coming out with new ones soon also. Though usually all that stuff gets pushed back a couple more months.

I want this to be my last receiver for about 3-5 years if possible.

I wish I knew someone who owned an outlaw 1050 locally to me. that would be Green bay, WI. Go Pack.

Anyone know how to figure out what my current receiver sub output is set at. The only info it has in the pamphlet is output level 2 v/ impedance 2.2kohms.
Any ideas?

What are the settings for the 1050 for all speakers can you set them at diff frequency?

Still Looking at receivers. 4 on list include still the 1050, The new Pioneer vsx-d711(PL II), Onkyo TX-SR600, and still looking at the Marantz SR6200, 7200.
Any new advice would help. I really want to test that new onkyo but any store says maybe may is when they will get it in. I waited this long I still can wait.
I am going to go back and test the marantz again.
I am running acoustic research Hi Res series(AR4c, AR11 front, ar17 rears, ar112ps sub. Great sound for the price.
Any ideas suggestions. Why the 1050 say over the marantz or maybe the new onkyo.

cburbs: You're in Green Bay! I'm approx 45 miles from you (Shawano area).

I purchased the 1050, then took the advice of many in this forum, and brought a Marantz demo unit home over a weekend for comparison. Both are very good receivers. But sadly I returned my 1050 after three weeks of use. It is a very nice receiver, and I wouldn't discourage anyone from getting one - especially for the price. It packs a punch and sounds very nice for DVD. It is easy to set up and use, and the manual is excellent, particularly for a first time user of HT.

During my research, I had my eye on the Marantz SR5200 all along. But, for a few extra features, I decided to take home a SR7200 demo unit for a test run. Result: the SR7200 was worth the extra $150 for me. Circle Surround, PLII, and the learning remote is just what I need - but the manual assumes you know something about HT.

This is a great forum, and I learned a lot from everyone. The Outlaws are excellent to work with, and all the Gunslingers are understanding and helpful. Unfortunately, I'm one of the very few that found the 1050 not quite right for me.

You need to take the time to listen and compare for yourself, in your own environment. The time you take will be worth it in the long run. Good luck.
