There's a pretty good thread around here somewhere ( this thread , starting around page 2). Basically, it will be a seven-channel receiver (65W/channel with all channels driven), with the full complement of current DSP formats (Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital EX, Pro Logic IIx, Dolby Headphone, DTS, DTS-ES, DTS NEO:6, DTS 96/24), three component inputs, pre-amp outputs, and perhaps most notably DVI switching. That's about all the information that we are likely to see before this fall some time, although by Thanksgiving I'd expect to see a pretty good run-down of what all it'll have.

I was checking out Yamaha's new RX-V2400 receiver, and noticed an interesting thing. It is the first Yamaha product receiver I have seen to include THX Select certification. It lists at $999, has all the latest processing modes(as well as Yamaha's infamous DSP abilities), has NO DVI connectivity but DOES upconvert all other video to component, and is 7.1 rated at 120 watts channel. The last item is what I found interesting: it is THX Select, rated at 120w/ch., but with all channels driven it was rated as 60w/ch. @ 1khz! The old 1050 was rated as 65w/ch.-3 channels driven, and the 1070 is going to be 65w all channels driven with no THX badge(unless Outlaw is not telling us). I also noted that the Yammy uses (2) 15,000Uf Cap's for a total of 30,000Uf of capacitance, while the old 1050 uses (4) 10,000Uf Cap's totaling 40,000Uf capacitance. I'm not electrically "literate" but I think that would give the Outlaw a slight edge in dynamics, right or wrong? I guess what I'm getting at is that the new 1070 will be one hell of a value!!

Thanks for all of the excellent input from all. After much thought and reading of responses, although I know 1070 is of excellent quality and a bargain at the price, have decided 7100/950 amp/preamp setup would be a better option for me when I decide to retire my Denon.

The 950/7100 combo is a very nice choice. When the time comes for you to make the upgrade, I'm sure that you will enjoy it.
