Well, I think I may be screwed. The remote for my 950 is dying so I bought an MX-500 programmable remote. I've programmed it and I think I'm in trouble. It appears as though my Hughes Executive Director(GAEBOA) sat receiver has some of the same codes as the 950.

Even when I have the MX-500 selected for SAT and I press the "guide" button, the 950 goes into it's white noise test mode.

Any ideas????

Thanks

Do you also get the guide? If not then I would say the button is not programed correctly. I have the 500 and havn't run into any conflicts like that but i guess it is possible.

I've played with it some more, and it looks like I've got four buttons that are not accepting any programming. I've tried deleting all the punch through features, I've deleted the SAT programming, I've tried programming the SAT using the P-Pro feature and code, and I've tried programming the SAT by manually learning.... and I still get the same result.

You've got four buttons on the MX-500 that aren't accepting programming? Which ones? Sounds like the MX-500 you got may need to be traded in.

I called Home Theater Master today (very nice folks). I had a "play" punch through feature programmed which overrides everything. The thing that I did not know was that the "play" punch through also controlled; guide, menu, exit and info.

I also found out that newer versions of the MX-500 have a built in P-Pro code for the Outlaw 950. The secret code is 342.
