Well the need to upgrade has struck again. This time the victim is my SV 16-46 PCi subwoofer. After much consideration it appears the winner is an SV PB2-ISD. Twin 12" SVS "Improved Standard Drivers". SVS designed, full-featured 600 watt BASH (R) digital switching amp. Computer Assisted Design (CAD) enclosure. Down-firing woofers with distinctive SVS integrated base-plate. Compliant floor mounts, ultra low center of gravity. Three tuned, patented 3" high-flow flared porting (in and out). CNC'd and assembled in America, hand tested by SVS R/D Labs. Extra heavy-duty detachable 8-foot power cord. Attractive, tough and practical plural component polyurethane finish. Selectable 16Hz, 20Hz or 25Hz tuning with included port plugs. Variable subsonic filter (16Hz, 20Hz or 25Hz). Size: 18" wide, 25" tall and 28" deep. Weight: 115 pounds. I can’t wait. This sucker has some real power. Look out neighbors he’s on the loose again. I think they’re just getting use to the 16-46 PCi. Now what? Stay tuned, film at eleven.

What will you be doing with the 16-46, wink, wink, nudge, nudge...?

Not poking fun at you because you were listing the specs probably from their literature, but I got a kick out of the "Computer Assisted Design (CAD) enclosure" as a selling point.

That means someone drew it on the computer. Hey, the shed in my backyard was also a Computer Assisted Design enclosure!

...Maybe this only tickles me. Being an architect, I draw stuff on the computer all day.

Kugumby, I know, I know, this is what you get when you cut and paste from a vendor's web site. I should have written the copy myself, but I tried to take the easy way out.

CBWills, to not run afoul of the Outlaws I listed the sub on Audiogon. It sold to a guy in Florida in two days.

Oil Can,
No problem. I understand about the rules of this website. I'm sure it went to a good home.

Computer Aided Design can also mean having the computer to do the calculations. For example, airplane and racing car chassis and also the building structures in complex projects. But, for a subwoofer? Hmmm...

Okay, Oil Can gets this great new sub and all we can do is focus on "computer assisted design." I want to know more about how this baby sounds.

The beast has been ordered. Two weeks, and the carnage will begin. Hide the women, and children. Tie down everyting not already firmly anchored to a strong foundation. Heaven help us all.

Well, the beast has arrived in Chicago. Hopefully it will be delivered to the office today. Transport to my HT has been arranged, and by tonight we should be ready to rock and roll.
