I know there was a thread like this in the "Outlaw to Outlaw" forum, but I wouldn't mind seeing a saloon like this. I've seen it on some other forums and thought it was a good idea. Basically, you just let folks list what equipment they have in their system and also any stories they had when putting it all together. It would give folks a good idea about what people out there are running.

All right-- I'll bite .

1) Outlaw 950/7100 combo
2)Cambridge speakers- 12" 200W powered sub,left/right front Ensemble 1's, center stage center channel,Surround 5.1's(bipole/dipole) for surround left and right and rear surround left and right
3)Sony ????? DVD player (I'm at work-don't remember it's number)
4)Sony 27" T.V.
5)Outlaw interconnects
6) 12 guage audiophile speaker wire (forget name- I'm over 50 after all!)
7) center channel and front left/right level with each other left/rights Omni-mounted on walls; side surrounds Omni-mounted on walls; rear surrounds Omni-mounted on ceiling.
8) Family room dimensions: 16 feet X 25 feet

Putting it together was a REAL pain!! The house came with a beautiful oak built in home entertainment/bookcase that was custom built :cool. Trouble was, it was custom built WITH NO REAR ACCESS!@##*$!*%$ Everything has to be fished up and down from shelf/platform to same-- had to drill a gazzillion holes everywhere internally. Depth is only 23 inches.

Future upgrades: T.V. when I see prices down- would like a 42" screen (largest that can fit in the space); universal DVD player.

TANGO and Unferth: Thanks for the posts. It looks like both of you have put together some nice systems. Just your two posts show how differently people can put together a system and enjoy audio and home theater.

I wasn't originally looking for a thread where people post what their system is made of. I was thinking more along the lines of a dedicated saloon where each post is a dedicated system so that people can comment and talk about each and every system. Also, threads like this tend to get lost and need to be updated. A seperate post would allow people to post the updates to their system.

Well, that was the original idea.

Unferth-- could you explain to me why you're replacing your 32" HDTV with a 27" and going back to an older DVD player? Seem to be in the opposite direction that I wanted to head. Is there something I need to know??

Also- nice system !!

Suggestions ALWAYS welcome , by the way. I don't pretend to be an expert.

I'll bite too...

Preamp: Outlaw 950
Amp: Outlaw 7100
Speakers: Onix Rockets (750s front, 200 center, 300s surrounds, 150s surround back)
Sub: None (Will soon get a SVS PB-2+ )
DVD: Sony DVP-570 (this will soon be replaced with a Denon DVD-2900)
VCR: Mitsubishi (ancient model and I don't remember the model number)
TV: Mitsubishi WS-55908
Cables: Outlaw interconnects, Onix SP-200 (front & center), Onix SP-100 (all surrounds)
Remote: I will soon replace the standard 950 remote with either an HTM MX-500 or MX-700, probably a 500 w/ in IRclone. (I think the 950 should come standard with the 500, the stock one, IMO, sucks.)

So far so good. The hardest part was putting together the speaker cables. The feeling has finally come back to the tips of my fingers. (I hadn't soldered in about 17 or 18 years.)
