Any Suggestions on where to buy SACD and DVD-A - 01/30/10 02:29 PM

I've had the bdp-83 for a month now and would like to pick up some SACDs and/or DVD-A's. We like all genre's: rock, blues, pop, jazz etc. Any suggestions for online websites?
Thanks,
Jeff

DVD-Audio is a bit tougher than SACD (fewer new releases and more older releases out of print), but both can be found at Elusive Disc. Other online stores also carry both formats, but they are often difficult to identify - Amazon.com, for example, does some weird stuff when identifying both formats since they have no official categories for either SACD or DVD-A. There is also SA-CD.net as a resource for SACD reviews.

Thanks Gonk,
I think you summed it up well. I was on the net searching before my post and read some reviews...but many were older releases and I couldn't find most of them. The one I did find for John Hiatt( I think on Amazon) was $63.00! However, I did come across another John Hiatt for about $20. Didn't come across Elusive disc. Will check that site out.
Thanks again,
Jeff

A lot of discs are out of print now, so you are seeing either the limited remaining stock or used discs. In those cases, it is common for them to be painfully expensive. There are some Alison Krauss discs like that.

I tried to post this before but couldn't get the system to accept my post. This was taken from AVS Forum and some good potential:

"Approximately 200 Fantasy/Telarc/Concord jazz, classical and roots hybrid SACD's now are listed at Concord's website for $11.98 each. Coupon code CMGJ brings another ten percent off and free ground shipping, with no minimum purchase requirement. Some are multichannel; some are stereo. Some were remastered to SACD early in the last decade; some were recorded in DSD and released recently.

The SACD prices are less than the corresponding RBCD's go for."

Concord SACD Link

A strange thing is that the SACDs choice is NOT listed on many of these UNLESS you select and look at the disc listing itself. You can figure they are included in this search because they have a SACD available.

I already have many, many of these Concord SACDs that sound great. The question is if your taste matches. The Spyro Gyra SACDs are mixed in surround beautifully.
