Programming URC MX-900 remote - 07/13/20 09:54 AM

I have been trying to program my MX-900 remote using the learning feature which has worked on every other piece of equipment I have ever had but it is not working.
Has anyone else done this successfully?
The remote seems to accept the IR codes from the Outlaw remote but the 976 will not respond to any of them.
Any ideas!!???????

Some ideas if you haven't tried them already:
-Space the remotes a few inches apart
-Try angling the Outlaw remote 20-45 degrees vertically in relation to the URC remote (try both upward and downward).

I find my Outlaw remote is most accurate when I aim well below the IR receiver.

Do you have the mxeditor software for the MX-900?

I do have the software.

Well that didn't work either but thanks for the tip. cry
I have been able to program a lot of the functions by using the IR data base within the program but the 976 is not on it.
Just the 975, RR2150 and 2 generic ones like Outlaw 1 & 2.
Outlaw sent me the Pronto HEX codes but I cannot figure out how to get them loaded.
I'll just keep trying.

While I cannot find a manual for programming, I've seen short quick blurbs on AVS and RemoteCentral basically saying something along the lines of "Use the Universal Browser in the CCP, copy hex code, paste to the hex editor, then drag and drop to a key."

I found that too but it didn't work either. cry
I managed to get a lot of the functions working but everything I have tried will not work with the on button.
So weird!!!!!

That is strange. I would note, the OFF and ON buttons are discrete. Please make sure you are using:

0000 006d 0022 0002 0156 00ac 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0016 0040 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0016 0040 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0704 0156 0056 0015 0e5f

Thanks Ben! By copying and pasting the chain that you posted it worked!!!!! grin
The chain you posted is different than what is on the Excel spread sheet.
This is copied from the spreadsheet.

34 006d 0022 0002 0156 00ac 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0016 0040 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0016 0040 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0704 0156 0056 0015 0e5f

Oops! That would have been my fault then; thanks for letting me know. If that is the case, it looks like I missed the first string of 0000

Glad to hear it is working properly now.

Re: Programming URC MX-900 remote - 07/22/20 12:40 PM

Thanks Ben.
Do I have to add the 0000 to the beginning of every code in the spread sheet?
I tried the Bluetooth code from the spread sheet and it did not work.

Re: Programming URC MX-900 remote - 07/22/20 12:51 PM

Yes, all pronto hex codes should start with 0000.

So, the code for the bluetooth input is: 0000 006d 0022 0002 0156 00ac 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0016 0040 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0016 0040 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0704 0156 0056 0015 0e5f

Ben I hate to bother you again but I think that the Excel codes are a bit jumbled.
When you have a minute would you please send me the svr codes?

Re: Programming URC MX-900 remote - 07/22/20 05:07 PM

Just confirmed that the Excel code for Bluetooth is actually the sleep code!!!!

Re: Programming URC MX-900 remote - 07/23/20 06:37 PM

Well with Ben's help everything is working the way it should!!
It seems that when I was copying and pasting the hex codes it was picking up some additional bits that didn't belong.
Not sure why.
Outlaw support is wonderful!
This is the advantage of working with a US based audio company.
You can get real person to person support.
Thanks again Ben for straitening me out.
