Input default

When turning on the 976, does it always default to the last input used when the system was turned off? Is there any way to change that? I've been trying to find a way to program my Harmony remote to turn my system on to the input I want with the initial activity push. I can get where I want to go, even though it isn't so convenient, but my wife has a terrible time with it...

My Harmony one allows me to have multiple startup versions on its display screen such that when I want to watch a movie via my OPPO it just starts the receiver with the OPPO as the input and starts the OPPO and the projector at the same time. It's all in how you program the remote via the Logitech site. Newer versions of the device may be different but the one I have is capable of controlling more than one system depending on how you program it and what your are pointing it at.

What you have set up on your Harmony One is what I am trying to achieve. It appears your 976 does not default to the "last input used" when it gets turned on again. I have my Amazon FireTV connected as the "Media" input into my 976, and have "Watch FireTV" as one of my activities on the Harmony One. However, when I turn the system on by hitting the "Watch FireTV" activity button on my Harmony One, the 976 turns on to whatever input was used the last time we had it on. I have to hit "Watch FireTV" again to get the 976 to switch inputs. It works the same for any of the five other activities I also have set up on the Harmony One. Since you have made it work, I'll try again at programming my Harmony, but I thought I had already tried everything.

Just to be clear I do not have a 976. My processors are as listed in my profile. Does this issue occur with other devices. Is it possible the 976 can't "see" the Firestick when it initially starts up but once it is up it responds correctly. You may have to insert a time delay into the programming to allow the 976 to get hold of the firestick after it starts. It could also be the order in which the system is starting. You can change the order such that the 976 starts first followed by a time delay and then the display. Hope this helps.

Thanks. I made a wrong assumption being on a 976 thread. I now see you have the 990. My 990, prior to the 976, worked perfectly with the Harmony One in bringing up the input I wanted. I've played with the delays a bit with no luck, but guess I'll try some more.

I actually have three systems all of which are programmed into my Harmony. The programming is several years old so I don't have to change it much but when I do it is a challenge to keep it all straight.
