Ok, the obvious question, when do we get the 1090 receiver???

990/7125?

It is certainly big enough to accommodate amps (Just like this one, http://www.sherwoodusa.com/prod_r965.html)

The chassis was originally large enough to support it, and if they sacrificed the balanced outputs they might be able to go back to a receiver (although the DVI switching took some space from the receiver amps). On the other hand, a 990/7125 package offers more power than the Sherwood R-965 for $100 less - I don't know how many they would actually sell.

They would have to be able to sell it profitably for around $1600 to $1800 if their current pricing is any clue, this is probably approximately the street price on its cousin the R-965.

Seems to be an obvious line extension.

Yeah, but for $1900 you could have the separates, with the benefits associated witih that (both in performance and in easier future upgrades), which would probably poach a lot of potential sales from the receiver. It is a novel idea, though.

Then they will probably do the same thing they did to get the 1070 price down. Cut the power a bit and lower the price a few hundred dollars.

Don't forget all the extra cabling you have to buy with the separates, that can be a hundred to many hundreds of dollars depending on how gullable you are.
