3 and 4 channel amps - 09/28/04 06:33 PM

I would like to see a 3 and a 4 channel amp. The reason being that speaker cable is more expensive and noisy than interconnects and the typical 7.1 system has three speakers in the front and four in the back.

I'd love to see a three channel version of the 770 (330?) and a four channel version of the 7100 (4100?). They would be easy enough to build, use the same case and amplifier units and lower the price to say $1100 and $600 or so. You pay about the price of the 770 for less power but you run less cable and get two boxes.

My two cents,

I think that Outlaws' offer on multiple M200's is their current answer to your interest.

Also, Outlaws recommendation to me was short interconnects, long speaker cables. I think if you gravitate toward reasonable cables, eschewing the esoteric, boutique 'mystery' of cable costing 10 to 200 times more but not having any better properties that can be truly demonstrated, you will find speaker cable that performs excellently without spending more than for reasonable interconnects.
