would like to see some decor related items

would like to see some decor related items - 01/05/03 05:40 PM

I like to bring this up at least once a year or so ... I'd like to see some Outlaw Audio signs or decorations for my HT. I realize that not everyone has a dedicated room for thier HT, but based on the wide variety of signs and stuff available these days ... it seems to me that there are enough to make such signs worth while.

For example, in the picture linked below, I've got four "format" signs ... I've love to see *some*thing similar but with the Outlaw logo and maybe a catch phrase?

http://www.sklenar.info/images/ht/new/P0002768.JPG

Would anyone else be interested in something like this? Or am I really so unique?

Oh ... and a Happy New Year to all of you and your families!

A Outlaw display sign would be nice for the home theater room. Maybe a back light model say a 10 X 18 inch. They could display a large Outlaw logo with their Factory? We dont need no stinkin' factory going across the bottom. Of course they need to get that glowing green button on their. I do like your signs, I ordered one each from Dolby and DTS myself. DOBEMAN

psklenar...where did you get your audio rack? Best Buys online site has them shown but is out of stock and back ordered like a mofo.

I have a friend that works for them and his manager says he doubts they will offer them anymore.

Any ideas? Thanks!

DOBEMAN,

"We don't need no stinkin' factory!" ... interesting. I had been thinking of something more along the lines of ...

'This Home Theater is owned by a known (Outlaw logo)'
'This Home Theater is/has an (Outlaw logo) at heart'

I ordered it from bestbuy.com ... it was listed as an online item only - not available in any stores. I just checked the web site and it shows as being in stock:

Studio RTA 6-Tier Hi-Fi Rack (Model: 80072)

The price is $169.99 and it's eligable for the current free shipping promotion the site is running.

Or nice denim or golf/polo shirts with an embroidered logo on the breast? Like the shirts I've seen the Outlaw's wearing at the Home Entertainment shows in NYC the past few years. I suspect that they could sell some of those.

Speaking of the HE show ... looks like it's in San Fran this year. Have fun you west coasters!

psklenar...

I plan on buying the rack soon seeing as its back in stock. Are the holes in the back roomy enough for cables to be snaked thru?

It would be great to keep the back off alltogether, but it looks like the back keeps it sturdy.

Any info you can give would be great. Maybe even take some close up pics OK, now Im asking for too much, LOL!

Thanks again.

*Note* I plan on putting the 770 at the bottom.

They are for my system. I'll take some photos tonight or tomorrow night and post them for you.

Actually, the frame is metal (steel or aluminum) and is structurally sound. The back really does nothing more than hide the wires ... which *I* think it does quite nicely.

No you're not. I'll be happy to post some pictures for you. That's what this site is for ... for us to help each other enjoy our systems the best possible.

I have a 750 down there for now. I want to swap in a 770 (or add two 200's) one of these days and add two more speakers, but I'm watching the funds a bit more carefully than I used to.

SpOoNmAn,

I haven't forgotten your pictures of my A/V rack. This just hasn't been a good week. I'll get them taken and posted this weekend.

Re: would like to see some decor related items - 01/17/03 12:08 PM

I got one of those racks yesterday. It's a great deal! It is really sturdy, and much better quality than I expected for the price. I was looking for an audio rack for a while, and was sure that I was going to have to spend several hundreds to get anything decent. I was pleasantly surprised. My wife think that it looks great, too!

As far as the holes go, I jigsawed a few more holes behind my receiver to help keep things from bunching up too much. I think it's kind of cool. Now I have a specific hole for the component video in's and out's, another for the speaker cables, another for the digital cables, and another for the rest. I measured everything up, and lined up the holes with the receiver, so everything fits real nice, and you can't see them.

Thanks for the idea and the links, Pat!

Re: would like to see some decor related items - 01/19/03 01:26 PM

I ordered the TV Stand last night from BestBuy for my 36 inch TV, I believe I can put the 1050 & DVD player on one of the shelves. Yesterday I went looking for a audio rack and very few to select from, and way too expensive. Anyway here is the home page link for Studio RTA. This seems like a good deal. I will post a picture when I get it setup .......http://www.studiorta.com/

Psklenar that is a nice setup!!

SpOoNmAn,

I just posted a temporary web page with four pictures for you -

+ One from the front demonstrating how well the wires are hidden from where it matters.

+ One from the side to give a good voerall view of the wiring.

+ Two angled views from the front of the side.

Hopefully these will give you a better idea of what it can do. Note the top item in my rack ... a Pioneer LDP. It's a very deep unit. And it, along with it's cable connections fit in the rack without a problem.

Benjamin & Hi-Fi,

I hope you like yours as much as I like mine.

Re: would like to see some decor related items - 01/29/03 12:59 PM

Can that rack take casters instead of feet? I really need to be able to swivel my rack around to swap equipment in and out regularly. Most swiveling or rolling racks start in the $700 range and quickly move above $1000, and <$300 would be much better for me (especially since I may need two).

While I'm asking, how much weight can the shelves hold? I imagine quite a lot - I see some serious Outlaw hardware on yours. Nice pics, BTW.

you probably could ... but I'm not sure I would. The rack came with "self leveling" feet. Basically they are just screw in foot that as you slide the rack around seem to adjust the level somehow. Not sure how, but it seems to work. I guess you could put casters on it if you could find some with the proper side threaded mounts?

I've got my heaviest piece, the Outlaw Audio Model 750, on the bottom shelf. No signs of bending or warping after over a month. Anything else is a feather in comparison.

psklenar: Thanks for posting the TV stand picture.

Yes this a very nice stand, It holds my 36 inch JVC TV, I set on it before I placed the TV on it and it did not move, (200 lbs) ..well worth the money..I am going to purchase the audio rack too..
