How about a hybrid amplifier.

Most of us don't have a need for 7 channels of 200 or 300 watts but most would like at least two high powered channels and 3 or 5 lesser powered channels. I would like to see an amp with two of the 7900s channels combined with 3 or 5 of the 7125s channels. Surround speakers don't need the Oomph of the 7900 but they do need something like the 7125. I use the 7125 in my 5.1 setup and the extra channels go to zone 2 speakers on the back porch. I also have a 7500 in my northern home which is set up for two channel music at the moment. I intend to utilize both in my HT setup up north when I retire. I will probably use the 7500 to power my mains bi-amped and the center with the 7125 providing everything else. For those who don't want multiple amps a hybrid would be perfect.

I would generally agree. Interestingly enough is that ATI's multi-channel amp line is a boarded design that offers a configurable number of channels (2-7) but doesn't seem to allow one to get a mixed configuration with different watts.

Might be a good avenue for Outlaw to pursue to stand out from the crowd. They could offer a configurable chassis which could accept different power channels. Fully customizable would make a lot of sense for most of the HT crowd.
