Output transistor type

Can someone tell me what type output transistors the Model 5000 employs?

I am looking for an amp to pair with my Adcom GFA-585LE to be used for biamping my center channel and surround duties. My goal is to match the Adcom as closely as possible. Thanks

I found the answer.

Two pairs of 150-watt Toshiba bi-polar output transistors per channel for fail-safe reliability.

Done in pairs this would be a Darlington configuration, correct?

I'd have to see the schematic to be sure but I'm guessing it's not a Darlington pair. I can't see in the spec but I'm guessing it's a class AB or similar with the transistor pairs (PNP and NPN) in parallel for the failsafeing.

That being said, it would also be possible to build a class A amplifier with two Darlington pairs, using four transistors. Of course then the transistors would have to be biased active which means you could cook on the amp whenever it's powered.

Thank you for the explanation.
