I am hoping someone will be able to help. I have Oppo 203 connected to 975 via HDMI. Problem is that every time click play on the Oppo it makes a pop/static sound at the start of the track or video file. I think it happens when 975 switches to the correct decoder. It is quite loud and very annoying. I wonder if this is a settings issue or some caps failing on the 975. Outlaw Audio support is tough to get in touch with. Appreciate the help.

Does it make any noise on other sources. Is the 975 or the OPPO doing the decoding? I would have the OPPO doing the decoding since is a more up to date piece of equipment and really designed to do it well.

Is the connection to the 975 from the 203's audio only output, or the main HDMI out? If it isn't, you could set the Oppo's video resolution to 1080p and check the main output connection.
The 975 should be able to decode any lossless formats from the Oppo. Have you checked with a different HDMI cable? If it is still a problem, Outlaw should be able to help.
