Can my Oppo 980 pass a HDMI signal and still be able to pass a digital signal via Coaxial cable at the same time.
THe reason I ask this is, if I buy a TV with a HDMI port, can I run an HDMI cable to it and run a Coaxial cable to the 990

Yes. The 980H's outputs are all active simultaneously. You can send video or audio and video via HDMI while still outputting digital audio via coaxial and optical as well as analog audio.

I used most, if not all, of the outputs on my 980 and now do the same with my BDP-83. I set up a series of Activities on my Harmony remote to configure my 990 and TV when using the oppo 980 for watching DVDs with digital coax , CDs with optical digital output, CDs with the analog outputs and SACD/DVD-A using the 7.1 analog outputs. DVDs and DVD-A have a video component (I can't recall if SACD do) and that signal was routed directly to my TV via HDMI versus through the 990s DVI inputs. I did that because I didn't have two HDMI to DVI cables but it will work as many folks use the 990 for greater video switching than I do. I've run two HDMI and component video cables to my TV so I just change the TV input with the Harmony for different activities. That oppo makes all their outputs active at the same time makes set up easier as there is nothing to change on the oppo. Probably more info than you wanted but I thought I'd pass along my good experiences maxing out the oppo outputs.
