2 channel...2.1...3.1???

What's everyone's thoughts on enjoying television better with a simpler system than full on 5.1/7/1 system (like my 950/7100/LFM-1)???

RR2150 with full range speakers and a Sub?

1070 and just use the Mains and the Center with/without a Sub???

Vitural Receiver and just use Mains and the Center with/without a Sub?

Mains would probably be Klipsch Quartets...

I've been considering going that route myself, but my wife likes multi channnel music so much that I'd have a hard time selling it to her. I've run a 4.1 system for a while now and have been considering a 2.1 or possibly a 3.1 (I'd need to get a center), but last night my wife suggested we get 2 more surround speakers!
IMHO if you go to a 3.1 system you'd probably have an enjoyable setup for movies and TV.

Thanks for the feedback...I hate that I can't seem to make time for the enjoyable experience of Home Theater but...
