Thinking of getting the Panasonic BD55; What's your thoughts?

I have heard this is a great blu ray player at a reasonable price. I think I've seen it around $320 or so online. What is your thoughts?

I had a chance to try one and it was very impressive but I am waiting for the Oppo BDP-83.

The BD55 and its lesser cousin the BD35 are very tempting, however I'm also waiting for the OPPO BDP-83. Besides blu-ray capability, I like the OPPO's ability to upconvert SD-DVDs using ABT's technology. If I already had an OPPO DV-983H in my system I'd probably buy the BD55 to get the analog outputs.

I installed a BD35 for a friend. Playing on his new Panny 1080p/24 front projector, the Blu-ray picture is excellent.

I own the BD55 and it upconverts DVD's just fine. The picture quality is almost as good as a bluray disk.

I just added the Panasonic BD55 to my HT. I love it. Audio using the 5.1 analog outputs is simple amazing when watching a action movie. SD audio on DVD's doesn't hold water to the Blu Ray audio tracks.
