HDMI switching - 10/18/07 10:04 PM
Some recent discussion in this thread led me to replace my rather basic MonoPrice HDMI switch with a more expensive switch from OPPO Digital. I've got that switch set up now and have put it through its paces. All the gory details can be found here , but here's the capsule summary: Model 990 users can quite easily use a switch like this to magnify the 990's DVI switching. I now have four HDMI video sources connected through the 990's switching: a 980H DVD player on DVI1 and a Scientific Atlanta 8300HD, a 981HD DVD player, and an HD-A2 HD-DVD player on DVI2. Each of the latter three devices has its own video input on the 990, and the switching is handled automatically for me with macros in my MX-700. This resolves one major headache that I had with the HD-A2 on my previous switch (it would not allow an HDCP between the player and my TV unless the player was just starting to load a disc).
