Just wondered what outlaws are using for the TV service?

Does anyone use Voom?

If you had to pick Between Voom, D-tv and Dish network who would win?

Are there any good websites to check out?

I use direct tv...is ok I guess. want to try voom eventually. Gotta have a tivo box though and I really want it to record it Hi def. Definitely get a tivo or PVR for tv viewing! It is the best since the 950/7100 combo ;-) Let me know if voom is all its made out to be eh?

I use direct TV also... I've got a std-def tivo right now and have been on the waiting list for a HD-tivo from orbitsat since mid march

But overall I like directv...

The only reason I won't go with Voom is that they don't offer the SciFi channel. My fav show is Stargate SG1 and I'm not willing to give that up

I’m in an apartment and not sure how well one of the DBS services would work from my location, but local cable is expensive and delivers Sci-Fi only in mono sound! IMHO, HDTV, while very nice, is still not mature enough to pay extra for HD delivery of limited choices within the time I have available for watching. I suppose if I had an HD digital disk recorder …

I use Directv also and I am happy with it. If it were not for exclusive rights to the NFL package I may have switched to cable for more covenient hdtv since using an antenna is not what I consider moving up in the world of technology. That said, the Directivo is worlds better than cox or time warners dvr's. I can't comment from experience on other dvr's but I hear its pretty much the same thing. Another thing that bothers me about cable is the best channels are done in analog and they look like crap once you get used to watching ESPN or Comedy Central on a digital feed.

I have Dish network's PVR 510,with free Sirrius channels! this unit has optical audio
output and it sounds great on my 950.

I started out way back with Primestar (Anybody remember them?), Dishnetwork, DirecTV, and now Voom. I also have 950/755 combo for about two years now. As far as sound quality of above DBS concern, they are fairly equal, not great but decent enough with Voom has slightly better sound than others. If you want to enjoy most HD choices, Voom is the best for now. Although some will argue that what Voom offers is not quality HD programs but still they have the most HD channels available currently. I only had Voom in my system since July 2. They still have many growing pains compare to more established DBS providers out there but I am willing to wheather out their initial problems to be able to see more HD programs in the future. If you want to check out what they offer currently, look into their website www.voom.com and/or search the "Voom forum" such as www.google.com and you will be able to see several different discussion forums regarding pros and cons about Voom service. If you have current HDTV and HT setup in your home, you will love Voom's HT programs offerings and their decent sounds. BTW, Voom's STB(receiver) does have both coaxial and optical digital outputs.
