Upgrading Amp, what should I get? - 12/29/03 01:22 PM

Hello,
I have recently purchased the 950 and am using it with a Harman Kardon PA5800 5x80 amp for music and theater. I like the 950 a lot and would like to upgrade my amp. I find the HK great for movies in 5 channel, but lacking a bit in 2 channel clarity.
My thoughts are either to purchase 5 M 200's during their special pricing deal, or to get a 755 with a discount for purchasing the 950. The price difference between the 2 would only be $5. Does anyone recommend one over the other for music listening? I am using this set up with Polk RT16's for my fronts. They are excellent and very musical speakers. I like the flexibility of the monoblocks and am leaning toward them but would appreciate any input.
I was going to get the 7100 and since I only use 5 channels, I was going to use the other 2 channels to biamp my Polk RT16's. As this would still give the speakers 200 watts, I think that the non-biamped method would still give better power and sound to the fronts. I look forward to hearing your recommendations.
Thanks and best regards,

We had this discussion in the M200 forum:

I went with the 7 M200's because of the "deal" pricing. But it looks like you wouldn't go wrong either way.
