Family Discount question - 11/17/03 12:08 AM

I can't seem to find any details about the family discounts.

Can any one tell me how they work ?

I am considering upgrading my 1050 to seperates.

I'm not sure if the family discount still exists, or if the package discounts partially or entirely replaced them. However...

In the latest newsletter (see here for the details -- it is linked as an announcement at the top of each forum page), Outlaw announced a $300 trade-in program for 1050 owners. There is a reference in the newsletter to "family discounts" (which cannot be applied to the trade-in deal). We'll see if we can get some clarification on the status of the family discount, but in the meanwhile here's a quote from the newsletter (in case the link above is too long):

Quote:
To facilitate that move, we are making it possible for Model 1050 owners to step up to separates by accepting any working Model 1050 as a $300 trade-in against the purchase of a combination consisting of a Model 950 and any of our multi-channel amplifiers, or five or seven Model 200s (when purchased at the same time). This $300 credit is in addition to any relevant discount that is part of the system price, and any other applicable promotions such as the current Model 200 multiple unit discount. “Family discounts” may not be applied to this offer.

Thanks Gonk, I should have mentioned that I know about the 1050 upgrade offer however I would prefer to keep my 1050 for upstairs use and buy a new setup. I really only need stero upstairs but the the 1050 sounds so great I figure I can't find a new unit for less than $300 so I might as well keep the 1050.

I would email Outlaw directly, they are very fast to reply (with the definitive answer).

I know that the 950 doesn't have a family discount since they lowered the price. Also, I do not think you can add a family discount on top of a "special" price like the 950/7100 combo deal.
