Ultimate Calibration & Test Disc

Ultimate Calibration & Test Disc - 11/20/02 12:17 PM

Hey Outlaws!

I've seen mentions of various test/calibration discs in the threads here. I'm still using the ancient Video Essentials disc I bought with my first DVD player and figure it may be time to upgrade.

So, what are the best discs available (especially for audio)? Do they come with complete instructions? I don't really know what features to look for because I don't know what should be calibrated beyond what the Video Essentials disc provides.

Thanks,

Sayer

Digital Video Essentials (VE's replacement) is still in the works -- it sounds like it will definitely be worth looking when it arrives. Aside from that, there's AVIA, which is similar to VE.

The Digital Video Essentials looks great.... too bad it's not out yet. To tide me over I decided to get the Sound & Vision Home Theater Tune-Up disc:

At $11.84 it seems like a good investment:

Arghh!!!!

There are other places with a similar price, just go to this site:

http://www.dvdpricesearch.com

and search for: Sound & Vision
and then click on: Check Prices

It even considers shipping costs in the prices. I buy most of my DVDs by starting at DVD Price search.

Now I need to go and see if my order is on backorder.... :-(
