Hey Outlaws, anyone familar with this Company?
I noticed they are based in North America, have a pre/pro (PT 7030) for approx. 1600.00 and are now offering it via Internet sales. Kinda reminds me of another product that was supposed to be released last year.
What do you think?

Sherbourn has been around for quite a while. I think they were recently bought out by the Emotiva group and are now starting to sell internet direct.

Although they are based in Tennessee their equipment is only designed and engineered there. The actual build is probably in Asia somewhere. The PT-7030 looked interesting but it does not appear to have a tuner and does not have phono inputs (It has inputs for a tuner but no phono). It does have a parametric equalizer. It also has 4 zones including the main with what appears to be video output to all of them.

I almost certain that the folks building the Sherbourn stuff have been involved in the the fiasco that was the Trinnov equipped Sherwood Newcastle receiver (and its ill fated / still born prepro cousin that shall go unnamed...).
I think the current Sherbourn prepro offering is a weird marriage of some parts from the old Marantz 7005 and a certain other "entry level prepro" that some folks did not feel made sense to enable the EQ functions...

Does not give me a "warm fuzzy"...

Inkel built the R972 for Sherwood and would have constructed the 997 if it had come to market. I do not know for a fact that Inkel is building the Sherbourn equipment. Is that a rumor or can you give us a link.
