i know this has nothing to do with this site but i figured some one on here would know ok i bought 2 infinity perfect 12.1's and a 1200 hundred watt amp but when i put it on even with the valume all the way down it makes loud thumps and they are constent with about a second in between the thumps and it really makes the music sound crappy so i was wondering why this happens? and if anyone could tell me how to fix it that would really be appreciated.

I'm afraid that I have no answer to this one. Are we talking about home theater here, or is this in a car stereo? The Infinity Kappa Perfect 12.1 is a 12" subwoofer driver for car audio installations, so I'm hoping it's the latter. You might be better off asking the question in the Outlaw to Outlaw area , since this area of the forum is not intended for Q&A's. Even there, you may not find a lot of help around here if it is a car audio question -- this site focuses primarily on home theater.

Sounds like the amp is oscillating. I think looking at the 12VDC and ground connecton to the amp is in order. For a 1000W high quality amp, it is vital to have good ground and 12VDC conntections, preferably with a big filter capacitor at the amp ene.

Of course, the amp could be defective or the speakers hooke up wrong.
