Special Outlaw Promotion Sale - 11/25/11 08:42 PM

Special Promotion sale was anything but special. Disappointed in Outlaw's offering; it was nothing "special".

I'm glad I am not the only one that thought so.

Weak, offerings. I was hoping for more of an Outlaw sale with some amps and subs in the mix.

I was hoping to see an unbundled Oppo offering (from among the partnerships).

WHAT DEALS? PETER SAID THERE WOULD BE SOME GREAT DEALS. I DOUBLE CHECKED THAT I WAS SIGNED UP TO RECEIVE OUTLAW EMAILS AND MADE SURE MY EMAIL ADDRESS WAS CORRECT IN THEIR SYSTEM. I'VE BEEN OUT OF TOWN UNTIL NOW AND THERE IS NO, I REPEAT NO EMAIL FROM OUTLAW ANNOUNCING THE "GREAT" DEALS!!!!!!!!!
NO EMAIL, EVEN AFTER I MADE SURE I WAS ON THEIR EMAIL LIST. I'VE BEEN A CUSTOMER SINCE I BOUGHT MY 950 AND I RECEIVED NO EMAIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
NOW YOU GUYS SAY THE DEALS WERE NOT "DEALS"???

BTW, I just read the Private Sale access post and its special username code, xxxxxxxx and access code xxxxxxxx. I went to the site and used them and they did not work. I also tried my regular user name and password and they did not work. Anyone know what is going on here?

Re: Special Outlaw Promotion Sale - 11/26/11 05:34 PM

Just my little 2 cents. Outlaw has been a trusted source of quality audio components to me since I purchased the Model 750, 12 years ago I think. I too was a little disappointed in the offerings. Would've loved to have looked at the BDP-95, but wasn't going to get the 7005 (did contemplate at one time) along with it. And, I already have the BDP-93, so... Was hoping for one of the 200 watt amps to be on sale, but no such luck. After contemplating for almost an hour and a 1/2, I ordered the 7900. More power than I'll ever use, but hopefully the last amp I'll ever purchase. It should be able to provide anything I'll ever need. What I have realized when looking through posts is that all of us get frustrated from time to time with what's happening OR NOT happening to 'our' liking. As an owner of the 750, 950, LFM1-plus and LFM1-EX, I have to say that I appreciate what they do (make quality products at a great price) and that they let us know (not as much as some would like sometimes), what's going on. I'm still waiting on the 978, because I really want to go HDMI, but for now I believe they are getting things done as well as they can and provide the quality they do. I have faith in that because from what I've seen, I have no reason to believe different. Personally I think we're a pretty demanding bunch.

Hank,

I just sent you a response to your private message.

This is a another message. If you could not get access to the private sale did you read the latest email blast sent out to those that signed up?

Basically it tells you that if you use certain browsers and try to "copy and paste" your user name and password, it could add certain spaces or extra characters which will not allow you to connect.. The user name and password must be loaded in manually. Please try again using that method. If you are still not successful please put in a ticket to customer service no later than Monday.

I think Outlaw had some major problems with this online private sale. I tried signing in after the sale went live and received numerous error pages. After an hour or so, I was surprisingly able to get in and view the sale. Later that day I tried to sign in again to purchase the Marantz processor and again received error page after error page. I tried several times until I thought the sale had ended. I gave up. I hope they use a different system if they ever try a private sale again.

TechnoPope,

After a grueling 24 hours where the servers were overloaded, we solved everything and also invited those that still believed that they had problems to contact us the following Monday .The notice was posted right here in the Saloon and the invitation to all who wanted to order was extended.

As far as we know, pretty much everyone who wanted to order got a chance and the frustration level for all went away. The entire Black Friday sale (both private and public) was by a wide margin the single most successful promotion in our 11 year history.

Peter

If we do it again, we now have in place the mechanisms to insure we can handle the traffic.

The sale generated an incredible amount of interest and no-one could get on after like the first 5 minutes. Shows just how many people are looking forward to the 978. Lots of interest around Thanksgiving time.
