Bending Over Backwards - 11/28/09 04:09 AM

I'd like to take this opportunity to offer my most sincere appreciation for the 'Over The Top' customer support I received from Scott and all the other folks involved at Outlaw Audio during my most recent purchase of a new PR-SC886.

While the details of the two month long transaction are not important I believe that it *is* important to recognize that the Outlaws take professional and personal responsibility to ensure *total* customer satisfaction even when having to deal with "The Customer From HELL!"

I appreciate all of the effort you put forth and I will take every opportunity to share my most positive experience with anyone I know who is looking for an audio related referral.

"Ten Plus" job folks!

Scott and the other Outlaws are really a pleasure to deal with. I received excellent support from them regarding my 970.

Their past customer support is the ONLY reason I'm still around. I had an LFM-1 that failed within weeks of delivery and they went the extra mile to help me get it sorted.

I have dealt with Scott on several occasions and believe the customer support from Outlaw is an Outrageous 100% every time that I have called.
This is one reason that I am willing to wait for the 997.
I have been tempted to pull the trigger on other products but when it comes down to it I remembered the satisfaction that Scott has given me with his professionalism in answering and solving my problems...not to mention that the 990 is a fine piece of equipment!

It is customer support like Outlaw that keeps people waiting for new products. I jumped ship and got the PR-SC886 because I just could not wait and the price was so attractive. When it got to my house I discovered the firmware version had not been updated. The Outlaws paid for me to ship it back both ways and did the update and I should have it back in 2 days. Not only did they offer a great piece of gear at a great price, but it is someone elses baby and they went above and beyond to make it perfect. You don't find it that often but if you did we might not be in this economic mess if all those who provide service followed the Outlaws lead. Thanks to Jennifer and Scott for their dedicated help and advice and their willingness to go the extra step to make customers feel good about buying equipment.

Well said. I received my updated unit back today.
OUTLAW AUDIO is just about the best company I have ever dealt with. If it wasn't for expiring Outlaw bucks and the great price of the PR-SC886, I would be waiting for the 997. Anyway, I will always be an OUTLAW.

I didn't send mine in to get the latest firmware so if you guys do notice a difference please chime in.

I don't know what it sounded like with version 1.0.1 because I sent it back to the Outlaws for the upgrade before I hooked it up. Getting the upgraded firmware free and easy with Outlaw was a no brainer for me especially since I have heard all kinds of issues with doing it yourself. Onkyo would not release the ability for the DIYer to do it at home. The forums over at AVS hint that there are fixes for a few small things and allowance for using different remotes codes.

The 886's video and sound was great before the update and after.
In the short time I had the unit hooked up I didn't notice any problems. What if I started having a problem down the road caused by a change of equipment, that the newer firmware fixed. Would I be able to have the firmware updated at that time at no cost? And would OUTLAW AUDIO do it? So I had it done now.
Just throwing out some thoughts.
