I am gathering there will be an email announcement for anyone who would like to preorder the 997?

Is it automatic for current subscribers/owners or will there be a special subscriber email?

I would expect that to be announced here in the forum, and very likely with an e-mail distribution to folks on their newsletter mailing list.

Nope, but it sounds like the front panel will look pretty similar to the 990.

Yes, that's a bit of a bummer, but I guess it was not done to help keep cost down.
