Trim them down

I want to upgrade my current center speaker, problem is...all my replacement candidates are too wide. I wish there would be a good way to make these speakers 18" wide instead of 19". I have exactly 18" of space in my setup. Do you think you guy could loose an inch of width? Maybe I could sand them down or something. Any ideas?

You could always use a Bookshelf as the center and lay it on its side (or even leave it upright if you can handle the height), although the rear port would appreciate having some breathing room behind it...

Meat,

I hear your pain. I had to build my own credenza to accommodate my center channel speaker. My speaker is 9.5" high and 26" wide. I wanted a closed cabinet and there weren't many options.

I feel your pain too. My center is 30" wide by 14" tall and I had to do some major surgery on my salamander quad to get it to fit.

You know, I just purchased a new Polk Csi5 to balance out the system. I originally bought the Polk Cs1, becasuse it fit. After watching 300 w/ uncompressed audio on my system, I decided that Cs1 could not keep up with my new 7500. Before then I really did not notice that speaker was not going to cut it. Oh well, I guess the new addition will sit on top of my TV. Mrs. Meat is not happy. At least I don't spend my money at a gentlemen's club, right? Well, not all of it anyway.
