When are the video benefits of hdmi 1.3 like deep color going to happen?

Has it happened already on some HD discs already or are the benefits still years away because studios have yet to support it?

The benefits of deep color aren't really relevent to either HD format, as far as I know, because the formats don't support that color depth.

so what format does 1.3 apply its video benefits?

thanks gonk. the reason why i ask is because i'm setting up an HT and wanting to go with a 990 but it doesn't have 1.3. But if i can get a blu ray player with 7.1 analog output for sound and 1.3 doesn't matter for video, then i think i'm good to go.
