Paradigm Studio 40 vs Paradigm Monitor 11 V5 - 07/20/07 08:24 PM

Hi,
I have a large room ( 25 X 20 X 9 ). I am confused as to which speaker will be a better choice. Paradigm's studio line obviously is superior but I can only afford a Studio 40(Large Book Shelf) . For similar price I can also buy slightly inferior but floorstander Paradigm Monitor 11 V5. I am planning to use outlaw 7125 to power them. Any views on this ????

Thanks

Will you be running a subwoofer? If so, I'd definitely go with the Studio 40's.

I have an older version of the Studio 60 (v2). I'd say that the Studio 40 will be a better speaker, and the sub will negate the slight benefit in low frequency reach offered by the Monitor 11.

After auditioning some Paradigm speakers about a year ago, I would have to agree with Gonk. Just remember that the Studio 40 will require you to use a stand, and it's an odd height stand at that. Just something to factor in to your costs.
