HT neophyte needs help - 10/06/02 09:35 PM

I am trying to get a handle on all the variables in HT and it is hard. Anyway, a question I have is regarding speakers. I envision using my system 60%/40% HT/Music and wonder if someone can advise speakers that do this well. I am still figuring our my price range, but probably do not want to go over $800-$1000 for all the speakers, including sub.

For example, I fear getting many of the small five piece systems that I have seen, because when I play traditional two channel music, I doubt the little front speakers will do the music much justice.

Any suggestions?

Jay,

Many satelight/sub combinations can do an exceptional job of 2 channel reproduction.

I'm a dedicated paradigm man myself. And their full HT systems range from $800-$3000 for a full system with a sub. Reccomended Systems . I am more than satisfied with their speakers...Heck you can check out This site in regards to their factory and manufacturing processes.

Just to assure you, I dont work for paradigm, I'm just a VERY loyal customer who enjoys their products immensly.

I run Boston Acoustics System 9000 and am VERY pleased with both music and HT reproduction. I think I'm more 70/30 HT/music but I've noticed a lot more music listening since I've installed my Outlaw.
