Outlaw vs. Episode - 05/12/11 09:08 PM

What are folks thoughts on using a couple of Episode 12 channel amps vs. three 7025's to provide whole house audio? Price is about the same, but I can't find much on the specs for Episode which is being recommended by an A/V installer.

Never heard of them, but here is the website. http://episodespeakers.com/
I suppose if your going to use them just for background music they might have enough power at 30 watts into 8ohms. Not sure if that is all channels driven.

I would say waste if money for a bridged 6 channel amp..

most likely cheaper to go with a heap of 2 channel amps or a m220 monoblock design..

going with this amp only gives 45 watts per channel or 90 watts in bridged configuration...

how many book shelves do you wanna use???

I often wondered who actually buys these "megachannel" amps in the first place. They must be for custom design for the very wealthy who don't otherwise know Oh sweet nothing from home theatre. For any serious AVS HT fanboy/girl such amps are useless.

Either that or these elusive "people" incorporate 20 McIntosh MC2KW Amps to power their back yard pool area "stone" speakers for parties! Gosh! I'D like to be at one of THOSE parties! wink
