7500 Arrived - but with some issues - 06/21/06 01:59 PM
Well after numerous shipping snafus I am the proud owner of a new 7500. The 990 pre/pro has not yet arrived but just like a kid with a new Christmas present I could not wait.
I eagerly but gently opened both of the packing boxes. The amp was very well packed and I did not notice any damage to either the outer or inner box. Yet when I pulled out the amp out of the box (thank for the help dear!). I noticed that the plastic bag was ripped and the amp had a small but noticeable scratch on its back plate.
Judging by the condition of the box this most likely occurred in the factory. I have not yet spoken with outlaw about this issue nor have I decided if it is sufficient for me to go through the hassle of returning the product. After all the scratch is on the back plate which is not normally visible.
I hooked the amp up utilizing my puny 75W Martaz receiver as a pre/pro, I did hear some slight hum, but I will look into fixing that once I get my 990.
Wow do my B&W speakers sound good with this amp. The extra power really opens them up. If I can fix the hum issue I will be very pleased with this new amp.
