Outlaw amplifier transformer sizes query - 10/13/15 11:43 AM

Hi all

Audioholics reports that the transformer size for the 7500 is 1.6kva each or 3.2kva total. A forumer from another forum stated to me that he had spoken to Scott himself and the 3.2kva information is wrong. Can anybody verify if this is true. Here is his email as follows:

"The outlaw 7500 has a total transformer va rating of 2kva. Not 3.2kva as you have stated. The 7500 has two 1000va transformers. The 7700 has a total of 2.5kva, and even the mighty 7900 has a total of 3kva (2 x 1500va transformers). This is straight from the horses mouth (Scott at outlaw audio), as I was reasearching these amps in consideration of purchasing one of them. Not meaning any offense, just thought I'd clear this up."

Can anybody verify his claims.
Thanks a bunch.

I can say that the 7500 has two different sized transformers. One is slightly smaller than the other. So, they're probably not both 1kVA. Don't know the exact specs, but that part of it can't be true.

Who can verify whether the other amps in the line have two different sized transformers?

If you go back into the 7500 forum on page 18 and find Gonk posts he has pictures of the 7500 without the case. It appears the transformer are slightly different sizes but the larger transformer is wired for three channels and the smaller is wired for only two channels, They might very well be identical transformers which appear slightly different is size.
