Model 7500 Auto On Question

Model 7500 Auto On Question - 04/22/15 06:33 PM

Finally getting all my new gear in and wanted to test the amp out. I noticed after the AVR turns on, there is a click in the Outlaw, and soon after you can get sound. It is about 25 seconds though before the red power light on the front turns blue. Does that sound like a normal startup? Just seemed odd the blue light is the last thing to happen. The model 7125 I used to have did not behave like this, but it seems to be a more smooth startup than the 7125.

Thanks.

Yes, that's normal. About 25-30 seconds to turn from red light to blue light.

Thanks!

When the 7125 used to come on it would make a UPS near by click over to battery mode. The 7500 doesn't cause a stir.

It would appear that the startup of the 7125 taxed the UPS such that it saw a loss/low voltage condition. The slower startup of the 7500 may have done away with the obvious drain but I would question as to whether the UPS is capable of supplying the needed power to either amp at rated conditions.

The amps arent connected to the UPS, it is just on the same circuit. I think the hard startup of the 7125 did something to the line that just tricked the UPS into thinking there was an issue.

I never had that issue with my 7125 even though it was supplied by the same circuit as all my other gear.
