Shortening the 7500

A 7500 will not fit in my rack unless I remove the feet.

Looks like the feet are around 3/4" tall. I would need to replace them with something 1/4" tall max.

I assume that the stock feet could be removed and replaced with shorter ones, perhaps stick-ons, worst case.

Any ideas?

Get a bigger rack. If the top is so close you won't have ventailation room for it to breath. You could get a 7125.

Xenonman is right. As the heat rises out the top, air gets pulled in from the bottom. The feet on an amplifier are normally designed to the minimum height needed for proper ventilation.

There would be space above the amp. Getting it into the rack is the issue because of the way it's designed.

I was also thinking that I could put a small fan or 2 on top of the amp to draw heat, if necessary. I'm using the single version of this fan on a receiver in a secondary system - works very well and noise is not noticeable from 3-4 feet away.

Please DO NOT REMOVE or REPLACE THE FEET. Fans or no fans, the unit is built to have a specific amount of ventilation at the bottom and top. Doing so, could cause the unit to fail, and by altering the design, it would void your warranty.
