The END of the 970

So I am assuming the OUTLAWS are extending the independence day sale of the 970 to clear out the rest of the stock? I am kind of bumbed out because I just bout my 970 in may for $550 new. I dont mind that much because I do love it with my 750. I wonder if they will have a similar sale with the 990, and what are they going to do with all of the 990 trade ins for the 997?

It could be to clear out the last of the stock, or it could be to make warehouse space for 997's, or it could just be to generate more sales.

The 990's won't be traded in - 990 and 970 owners get a $200 discount on the 997, but they keep their processor. You'll likely see a bunch of used units on Audiogon or eBay.

Could be that sales didn't meet expectations during the original promo period so they continued the sale.

Outlaw has several 970's listed on ebay for $399. They won't move unless they drop the price!

I think that the current Model 970 sale is causing a lot of Model 950s to appear on Audiogon or Ebay. I've seen a bunch pop up on there recently.

I saw the 970 listed on ebay as well by Outlaw and was scratching my head. I bet if you put in an offer for $299 they would probably let you buy it.

I just bought mine on ebay for $300 and I think there's one left. For what I'm using it for its a steal at $300. Totally happy so far plus I'm happy with the two year warranty. Cheers. :>)

Just was looking at combo pricing and the 970 combo with amp and Oppo is gone...in fact I could no longer find any 970's listed at all. Maybe the combo promotion cleared out the last of the stock.

Yep, it's listed as sold out and discontinued now.

Ordered the 970 combo with oppo last Wednesday. Recieved 970 on Friday, expect the 7125 today and oppo tommorrow. Can't wait to get hooked up.
Will miss the trusty old 1050(will go in family room). Just couldn't pass up the combo pricing.
Looks like it was a good thing I pulled the trigger when I did and didn't wait until this week! For our needs, the 970 and it's video switching should work out well, our 60" Hitachi has only 1 dvi and 1 component input.
