model 970 vs. 1070 - 12/08/05 08:37 PM

I currently own a 1050 and have been looking to upgrade for sometime. When Outlaw came out with the 1070 I was all set to buy one. Well then they had to go and throw a wrench in the works. I'm mainly concerned about sound quality between the 1070 and 970. Obviously the 970 will be more expensive with the purchase of an additional amp. I'm wondering if the extra money spent on an amp would be worth it in sound quality? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Well, the investment in a good amp can last a long time, so you'll pay more now but be able to upgrade the processor without buying new amplification down the road. What kind of speakers do you have? That might help gauge the benefits of separate amplification.

How big is your room?

How efficient (or not) are your speakers?

How LOUD do you play things?

The amp in the 1070 should be fine in most applications, but it's up to the three things above (at the top level) to see if you need a new amp. If the 1050's amp has done right for you, you should have no problem with the 1070.

i'd agree with podboy and add that you can always add amps down the road.
