SMS-1 firmware up to date? - 08/12/10 11:02 AM

If a newly purchased SMS-1 is purchased from Outlaw is the firmware up to date or am I looking to upgrade manual via RS-232?

Also, are these still used much? (SMS-1)

OT: Seems the forum isn't as active as it used to be. (I was registered years ago)

Firmware should be up to date - the only firmware revision I remember the SMS-1 getting was an optional revision that altered the high-pass sub crossover to support 5Hz output. A few folks with really low-reaching subs (infinite baffle, etc.) wanted that.

I still know of folks using the SMS-1, and it still has value.

I have the SMS-1, and it is a vital component in my system.

The firmware upgrade also fixed a problem with increased distortion.

Thanks for the reply. My SMS-1 is on the FedEx truck so I should have it in my hands shortly. Appreciate the feedback. I hope the firmware is up to date.

FWIW, then firmware was not up to date. The one I received had June 2009 on the inspector's sig. Must have been old stock.....

Important! I was incorrect! This SMS-1 indeed shipped with the latest 2.1.4 firmware.

I mis-read. Wanted to edit this post.
