Re: Santa Came - 12/25/05 05:00 PM

But...Santa didn't hook it up for me! What is the best way to get this hooked up using a 950? So far I have the mike connected and the LFE out from the 950 to the Red LFE input(17) on the SMS-1 and the LFE out(13) going to the amp that powers both subs. The S-video(12) and the EQ audio output(14) of the SMS-1 is going to Video 2 of the 950 and it's set to stereo. Is this correct, the manual is not clear on this? Is there anything I need to do to bupass the Velodyne low-pass filter? Or do I just set to 100Hz above the 80Hz of the 950?

That is hooked up correctly. To disable the crossover, go to the crossover point setting for "setup" and hit "select" on the remote followed by "reset" - this will shut the crossover off.

just got one too, love it, what do they mean by stacking eq's and should I turn the phase switch to zero on my subs

Re: Santa Came - 12/26/05 04:40 PM

"Stacking" the EQ's appears to refer to putting two EQ's at the same frequency and setting both high. You don't have to set your sub's phase to zero, but it is what I did - made sense to consolidate all phase control in one place.

Hi gonk, yeah that makes sense< I haven't played with the sms1 much as it was christmas day and the wife was sick{flu is going around} but plan on really geting into it this week, used the auto eq and it set the 20 up to + 6 but I backed it down to +1 and 32 to -13 but brought that up to -12. I have two klipsch rw12's in a room thats 20x15 with a 13foot peak in the ceiling the subs are supposed to rated 21-120 plus or minus 3 db, but I don't want to cook em. sounds good with the auto eq but like i said am going to play with it this week, any cautions wuld be great.
