Really need help combining the 950 with a Sony S55 - 10/29/13 08:37 PM

As mentioned, need alot of help from someone who knows both of these or can set me down the right pathway! Downsized the h/t system and didn't bother to mark the wires as i disconnected them. Took me two days to get my cd player to finally work ok but the blu-ray is another story. The picture plays fine but no audio. Read both manuals, done what i think they have said to do and still nothing.

I take medication for various health problems including diabetes and depression and AFIB and that's not helping and my memory banks are really just shot. That fact along with just not always comprehending the whole h/t thing is making me mad, frustrated and depressed and i really could use some direction.

If you do know these units and can help see if you can put stuff in diagram form, i understand much better that way and i can also take pics of how i have the 950 and 550 wired in the back.

thanks!

Is the Blu-ray player a BDP-S550? I could not find any detail on the S55. If it is the S550 then you should connect the audio using either an Optical cable or a digital coax cable. The optical cable only fits into one of the optical ports and the digital coax cable is orange colored at the end. Once you connect the audio make a note of which port you used. You will have to go into the 950 menu and tell the system which audio port you used for the S550. That way when you put in a disc the video and audio are synceh together through the 950.
