1070 Owners...Still Enjoying Your 1070??? - 03/11/09 11:35 AM

...I know they have been out of production for a while now but are you owners still enjoying your 1070 or have you moved on???

Have you found the Outlaw "little" 65wpc enough or have you added a bigger amp???

I had an Outlaw 950/7100/LFM-1 combo in the past and never felt like I needed more power except when reading the "errornet"...seriously when listening it sounds right but there is always upgradeitis... laugh

Currently (no pun... wink ) I downsized and am using a 1050 and a Klipsch Sub-12 combo...sounds nice but I am missing my old punch...could be in part the older decoding formats of the 1050 versus the newer stuff out there...what about the 1070???

I have an LFM-1 Plus on order...

still think 65wpc (it IS Outlaw power laugh ) is enough with Klipsch Heresys for the front three (96dB)???

Thanks...just trying to pass the time 'til some updated gear arrives...

The 1050's amps are pretty darn respectable, and those Heresy's are efficient enough that I wouldn't expect there to be a real benefit to adding more power. I do recall the 950 being an upgrade in sound quality over the 1050 (partly the extra decoding, but I think also the DAC and analog stage), which may be a big part of what you are hearing.

I have Klipsch all round and say for certain I have never stressed the 7125 at all. It puts out about a 21 db increase from 96 db which will easily damage what little hearing I have left at this point. 65 watt will still put out +18 db and 114 db is freaky loud.

XenonMan...thanks lots...!...although the 7125 is almost double the 65wpc of the 1070...heck, I can add an Outlaw amp later, right???... wink

well i just extended the life of my 1070 - finally lept into blu waters with the pick up of the pioneer bdp-51fd. i found a made in japan model open box at best buy in pristine condition for 199.99. With full analog out, DTS-MA (with upcoming fw upgrade) (and the rest of the relevant decoding), all while keeping my receiver, I couldn't turn that down.

It's a slow loader but once it's up in running it sounds great, and at that price, that's a really low entry price for finally getting into blu for a once disgruntled hd-dvd guy.

The 1070 lives on laugh

I still enjoy the 1070. Mine has not had the issues others are reporting. Since I have owned it, it may have locked up a total of 3-4 times. My 1070 still sounds flawless. It would be a perfect 2nd receiver in a house for that 2nd TV etc..

I would like to upgrade to something newer like a Marantz or Integra but I am finding trying to sell the Model 1070 a little tough as not everyone knows of Outlaw Audio and particularly the rep of the 1070.

If anyone knows of someone interested let me know.

Sir:

If the 1070 is available I am interested.

My main system is a 990 AND a 7125 amp. I sold my original 990 for a new Rotel ... it blew up after 3 days!

Lucky for me, Outlaw had some B stock and I am back to where I was. Also, the new HDMI format did not like my older SONY Wega. SACD and DVD-A only pass through HDMI in stereo! Weird!
