weird 2007 behaviour

Happy New year all !
I just had the weirdest of incidents...
my 1070 failed for a while to transcode video from composite to component...
Having only component and DVI lines going to my projector...
I rely greatly on the 1070's video transcoding power...
Well on this fine 07 morning...
audio was fine...
but a '' no video '' issue surfaced when selecting non-component analog sources...
no s-video or composite passed through...
but component went through no problem...
I checked input assignements...wires and different sources...
I put the 1070 in stand-by...
all without improvement...
finally...I simply shut it down totally for a minute...
re-booted everybody and the problem was gone...
Yeah!
But What gives ?
Anyone else had this problem ?
