Am I having the "No Audio" problem? - 12/28/06 04:34 PM

Hello all: I'm new to the 1070 community. I received the 1070 as a gift. It really opened my eyes in a good way. I love this receiver. I have plenty to learn about it still since it's actually in my second (but clearly better) setup in my loft.

Currently my 1070 is hooked up to 4 B&W wall-mounted satellites, a B&W CDM center channel, and a 12" 650 B&W Sub. The sound is fantastic for music and movies, imo. My only input into the 1070 is currently an XBOX360 w/ the HD-DVD add-on. The XBOX is wired in w/ component video and optical sound. What most commonly happens is, the 1070 is on, the Xbox is on. The Xbox splash screen displays and the typical Xbox introduction "splash sound" plays. Sound is fine. I'll select to "Play DVD" from the Xbox menu. By the time the openeing credit are rolling, the sound is gone.

The Xbox is wired into the "DVD" inputs on the 1070. I noticed if I simply use to remote on the 1070 to select Video 1, and then flip back to DVD, the sound is fine and never cuts out again.

Is this the problem being addressed in the beta patch?

Thanks!

Yes, I believe that this is exactly the problem that the beta patch is intended to resolve, although the beta may not eliminate it entirely - another patch is in the works to completely fix the problem.
